Based just outside of the North Cornwall town of Bude, our first adventure into composting toilets was designing the amenities for our own off grid yurt campsite. They were a huge success with our guests who loved the environmentally friendly toilet solution, and their so called'waste' was a huge hit with our fruit trees which loved the incredibly fertile compost! With a strong emphasis on reducing human impact and conserving precious resources our composting toilets have been designed to provide an alternative solution to traditional and inefficient flush toilet systems. Flushing the toilet accounts for around 1/3 of water usage in a typical UK household. As this water is potable (safe to drink) it must undergo numerous filtration processes, putting considerable strain on limited sanitary infrastructure, often resulting in contamination to our rivers, lakes and oceans.

A composting toilet will enable you to save water and close the natural biological cycle and return human waste to compost which is incredibly fertile and useful when used as a fertiliser. Our compost toilets come with everything you need, so once it is installed it will be immediately ready for use! Constructed using lightweight materials our portable loo has been designed to make it easy to dissassemble and move. Simply flatpack the panels, relocate the unit and reassemble as many times as necessary.

Waste is separated into 25l containers (liquids / solids) which can then be easily transported to your compost pile to work its natural cycle. The ideal choice for your allotment, the veggie patch at the bottom of your garden or for ad hoc outdoor events. All units are equipped as standard with: bucket, scoop, toilet roll holder, hand sanitiser dispenser and your first batch of sawdust. Installation of 1.2 x 1.2m paving slab base, with weed matt.

If you have a location available to you for a more permanent loo installation we offer a set up that raises the floor of the cubical 60cm above ground level which enables a 240L wheelie bin to be used for the solids waste. Having a large capacity solids bin on wheels with natural composting action means the loo can be used for months or even years before reaching capacity, with changeover and emptying made incredibly easy. This option is great for your campsite or off grid air bnb, an eco alternative for your home and garden or even your small festival site. It's also our favourite tried and tested solution for our own off grid yurt site, often home to 25+ humans!

Either add the Humanure to a compost pile with a mix of fresh organic matter (leaves, straw, grass clippings etc) and leave it to compost to make fertile growing fuel! Or wheel the full bin out of sight (and mind) and leave it to transform itself with compost action into odourless, fertile, top soil like compost, all whilst your other bin is being filled!

Our compost toilets are all made with FCS approved timber, pressure treated to ensure their long lasting durability in the British seasons. They feature a clear, impact rated polycarbonate skylight roof as well as a 25x60cm window. All toilets include a 25 litre bucket full of fresh sawdust, toilet roll holder, 4 compostable paper rolls, bamboo toilet seat, urine separator and interior and exterior locks.
